Warm Roof Upgrade

LOCATION :South London
SIZE :2,000m² Roof
WORKS :Warm Roof Upgrade

The existing roof had multiple leaks, and our surveys prior to quoting revealed extensive blistering and stress cracking in the asphalt waterproofing due to thermal expansion and contraction. We determined that the existing waterproofing was beyond repair and that all concrete tiles needed to be removed. A full warm roof upgrade was necessary to bring the roof up to current regulations.

The project began with the removal of all concrete slabs from the roof. These tiles were then recycled and provided to the local community, significantly reducing landfill waste. All existing external insulation beneath the concrete tiles was also removed and disposed of in skips.

The existing asphalt roof deck was thoroughly jet-washed to remove all dirt and debris, creating a clean surface. Any cracks and blisters were repaired before further work commenced.

Next, a new Vapour Control Layer (VCL) was adhered to the asphalt. Following this, 140mm flat board insulation was adhered to the new VCL using a PU adhesive. A new single layer mineral-topped capping sheet was then installed to the insulation, also using a PU adhesive.

Finally, Prokol Polyurea 260FR was sprayed across the entire roof area, including the perimeter walls and over the coping stones, at a minimum of 3mm DFT.

This application comes with a 50-year product and labour warranty.
